On Thursday 4th February 2010, Chris Mole MP, Minister for Railways launched a brand new group for railway professionals across all industry disciplines. The Young Railway Professionals will be open to all operators and engineers.

The new website for the Young Railway Professionals (YRP) launches today! Key features of our new site include forthcoming events information and an online discussion forum.

The Institution of Railway Operators and Modern Railways magazine are joining forces to launch the Golden Whistles Awards. These awards will acknowledge best practice and congratulate railway operators that have done a good job by rewarding them with that ultimate symbol of smart operating – a whistle!
